Core Web Vitals in 2025
The original Core Web Vitals—LCP, FID, and CLS—have been refined and expanded to better measure the performance of modern web applications:
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) now considers viewport-specific content priority
- First Input Delay (FID) has been replaced by Interaction to Next Paint (INP)
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) now accounts for intentional layout shifts triggered by user interactions
- Time to First Byte (TTFB) has been added as a core metric to measure server response time
